This weekend marked the start of the 2018-19 interlocking play schedule between the ECSHL and the CWSHL. On Friday night the Conception Bay Blues host the Grand Falls Cataracts in the CBS Arena. After falling behind in the first two periods the Blues battled back with 4 answered goals in the 3rd to pull within a goal of the Cats, but eventually lost an exciting game 7-5. The loss was the first for the Blues this season. Saturday, the ECSHL's newest team the Clarenville Caribous held their season opener against the Cataracts. The Caribous got 4 goals from Mason Reid as they picked up a 7-4 win. Interlocking play will continue on December 14th when the Cataracts visit the Northeast Eagles.
